newspaper News United Players at ODP Camp - Congratulations to local players!

Five players from Springfield attended the U14 Boys ODP Camp in Rockford Illinois:  Blake Aggus, Graham Basecke, Matt Beckett, Heath Melugin, and Ryan Moses.

From the 280 players at the ODP Camp, 32 are selected for pool training.  Two of these players, Graham Basecke and Heath Melugin were selected for pool training that will comprise the Regional team.  The regional team is composed of players from 12 states in the Midwest.

There are players from the U16 team attending the camp this week.  It is quite an honor to make the pool training for the regional team.  Out of these 32 players will be 18 picked to represent the Region II at the National camp and tournament, held in LA in August.

These players are added to a short list of players from Springfield that have ever made the Regional team  Other players include Jackie Jewsbury was the only other player out of Springfield to make it on the boys side.  Maddie Senkosky has been the only girl.
